01_Ngoudiane Samel Group's story

This group of 9 brave women are members of a group established in the district in December 2012. They live in the same village, are supportive of each other, and get along well. Retail is their primary activity. They have always honoured their commitments.

59-year-old Ndéye Khady is the group representative and is standing on the right of the picture raising her hand. She is married and has 3 children, 2 of whom are girls.

Ndéye Khady makes and sells fruit juice in her village. She gets the ingredients from the big suppliers in town. She has good experience in this line of work which she has been in for many years.

She plans to buy some bags of sugar, milk, monkey bread (fruit of the baobab tree), bissap (hibiscus flowers), and various other ingredients. She has built up a loyal clientele because makes delicious juice.

The profits she earns will be used to build her savings, develop her business, and help her husband with the family's expenses.
