A loan helped to buy food products and make juice.

01_Mbourwaille Group's story

This group of 8 brave women are members of a "banc villageois" created in September 2013. They have known each other a long time because they live in the same village and share strong values of kinship and solidarity.

63-year-old Ami is the group representative and is standing on the far right raising her hand. She is married and has 4 children. She is a dynamic woman and is requesting a large loan to develop her business further. She sells fruit juice. She gets the ingredients at the weekly markets and runs her business at home. She has been doing this successfully for many years.

She plans to buy 6 bags of sugar, 10 bags of monkey bread (fruit of the baobab tree), 20 bowls of bissap (hibiscus flowers), 1 bag of powdered milk, and other necessary ingredients. She is very good at making fruit juice which sells well in the village.

The profits she earns will be used to build her savings, to contribute to the tontine, and to cover her expenditures.
