Angela Maria's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy perfumes, crèmes, trinkets, and clothes that have been ordered by her customers, as well as meats, plantains, cheeses, and other ingredients for preparing food.

Angela Maria's story

Angela Maria is a 26-year-old single mother of a two-year-old child. They live in a rented house in Portoviejo, a city that was affected by an earthquake on April 16, 2016, and now by the COVID-19 pandemic. This city is rich in its production of vegetables, legumes, and fruits for domestic consumption.

Angela Maria had to leave her home country because she was a victim of several experiences that she had to live through. She did this in order to protect herself and her child. At the moment, she prepares and sells food such as fried pork, green plantain dumplings, and kebabs. She also sells clothing and catalog products made by Avon and Belcorp (Ibel, Cyzone, and Esika) such as beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes, and women’s accessories. Angela Maria works every day. Her products are offered on credit and she collects payments every eight days. She also travels to different places within the city to sell virtual bingo cards.

Angela Maria was unable to work at the start of the pandemic due to the social isolation, the fear of getting sick, and various restrictions on travel and sales. However, she is now following biosafety protocols.

This loan will be used to buy perfumes, crèmes, trinkets, and clothes that have been ordered, as well as meats, plantains, cheeses, and other ingredients. Her dreams are to own a house and to see her child in good health.
