Maminirina's story

Maminirina is a young 22-year-old woman. She is married, with two children. The family lives in a rural area, in the village where the couple were born. Agriculture and livestock are the main sources of income for the family. Maminirina also has a food stall where she serves coffee, tea, soup, fried foods and fruits. The income from these small businesses cover the day to day expenses.
Maminirina and her family plan to build their own home, a project that requires a lot of financial means. She has decided to expand her agriculture and livestock to increase their revenue. She joined Vahatra to take out loans to serve as capital. She has benefited from a few loans of increasing amounts which were a success. She has managed to deposit savings with her profits. The previous loan helped her to grow carrots and sell fruits. The next loan will allow her to grow rice and raise pigs. She will buy rice seed and pigs along with their feed. She hopes to make good profits. She plans to buy bricks.
