Sharifah's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more sacks of sugar, salt and maize flour to sell.

Sharifah's story

Sharifah is 32 years old and lives in the town of Kasangati, in the Kasangati region of Uganda. She is married and has three children. Two of them attend school. For the past nine years, Sharifah has been working hard to manage her Grocery store where she sells fresh vegetables.

Sharifah has requested a loan of 1,500,000 UGX from BRAC Uganda to help expand her business. The loan will be used to purchase different types of vegetables to boost the business. This will help Sharifah generate greater profits, invest more in her business, and buy food for her family. Sharifah hopes that in the future, she will be able to buy land and build rental houses.

Sharifah is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small Group members like Sharifah, who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
