A loan helped to pay for renovation.

Chanthy's story

Chanthy is a 21-year-old experienced farmer and a married woman from the Angkor Borei district of Takeo province. She lives with her spouse, and her spouse is engaged in growing rice and raising some poultry at home to cover the family's needs. Her husband has knowledge of growing rice, such as land preparation, cultivation and growth of rice, and about fertilizer, diseases of rice and other agricultural tasks. Chanthy and her husband are honest and industrious in their daily duties, because she wants to raise her living conditions and provide for her children's basic needs.

Because of a shortage in her finances, she has applied for a loan in the amount of 2,000 USD to pay for renovation. This fund can encourage her to pay to purchase construction supplies as well as pay for labour costs. Having a strong personal home is a source of pride, safety, comfort, and dignity in society. Home is a place to spend time with a beloved family. The advantage of new roofs is that they help protect when it rains, provide storm protection, clean ceilings and comfort for living, and are waterproof. Thanks to Kiva lenders for their role in the comprehensive development of women like her, who want to reduce poverty for their families.
