A loan helped to get better healthcare for his family.

Simon's story

Simon, an industrious farmer, aspires to provide better healthcare for his family from farm profits. He gets access to improved farming services as a member of Babban Gona, which helps him increase his productivity. He is also now farming in a more sustainable manner as a result of training programs. Simon's agronomy teaching, for example, focuses on micro-dosing fertilizers to reduce environmental effects while increasing yields. Simon anticipates harvesting 40 bags/hectare of maize this year, more than doubling the national Nigerian average of 18 bags/hectare. He will receive cash equivalent to the worth of his maize at harvest as a result of this Harvest Advance loan. Babban Gona will then assist him in storing his maize and selling it at a better price over the next 6 to 9 months, ensuring higher returns. This is significant for Simon because he intends to use the proceeds from this harvest to provide better healthcare for his family.
