Jose's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more Irish potatoes from smaller farmers to sell in the market, in order to feed his family.

Jose's story

Jose is a 29-year-old Mozambican man. He's a young entrepreneur in Ulongue village-Angonia in Tete Province.

He is a visionary young man who found in agriculture his main source of income. Considering the potential of his village for agriculture, as well as the most demanded crops at the market, Jose decided to select Irish potatoes as his main commercial crop.

He travels within Angonia plateau identifying smaller farmers with high potential and experience in Irish potato production. Jose knows in advance the variety, as well as the amount the market needs, which makes his work easier. However, the lack of a car is a challenge that Jose intends to overcome in the future. For now, Jose wants to expand his clientele by supplying good quality products.

To do so, Jose needs to travel to the most remote areas of Angonia plateau to buy more Irish potatoes from smaller farmers to sell in the market in order to feed his family. This is the reason why he needs a Kiva loan.
