Maria Andreina's story

Maria Andreina is a 24-year-old micro-entrepreneur who lives in the city of Barranquilla with her family. Her economic activity for five years has been a tattoo service. Five years ago she started with her mother's support, and now she lives in her mother's house in the Los Ángeles neighborhood. It is her main source of income. Additionally, she manages three apartments that belong to her mother. This commercial activity is their only form of income, and it is what allows her to contribute to supporting her household.

However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic that had a worldwide reach, her work deteriorated because of questions of biosecurity, and her income shrunk dramatically. This is why she is seeking her first Kiva loan with the Santo Domingo Foundation [La Fundación Santo Domingo] with the intention of investing in the purchase of radiant ink in black, green, red, blue, and yellow; boxes of needles (120 count); vaseline; cotton swabs; and plastic wrap. Help support her loan for her business.
