08-Karantaba Koto Group's story

These 32 women joined the group that was created in September 2013. They are from the same village and are united by good social ties. They have the same ambitions for improving their living conditions, thanks to small-scale commerce.

Ms. Aida, the group's representative, appears by herself in the photo due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She is the married mother of seven children. She has four others to support.

With her new loan, she intends to purchase palm oil and oseille [dried hibiscus flowers] to sell. The profits, once they are earned, will be used to cover the children’s school fees, healthcare, and food.
