Delphine's story

Delphine F. was born in 1975 in Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin. Married to Robert Gbetchou, she is the mother of two children, both attending (or having attended) school. Seven years ago Delphine settled in the Agbalo borough of Cotonou, where she lives with her husband and children. She assists her husband in taking care of various family expenses, thanks to the revenue generated by her activity. For the past 12 years, Delphine has been active as a retail merchant, selling various products (pasta, peanut and palm oil, couscous, soap, milk, canned sardines and tomatoes, green peas, etc.) in her home-based shop. She gets her supplies in Dantokpa, Benin’s international marketplace. This is the second time Delphine has requested a loan from ALIDé, to strengthen her activity and improve customer satisfaction. She fully reimbursed the first loan received from ALIDé.
