Terimbere Zamuka Group's story

Fortinee is a 47-year-old mother of four children aged between 15 and 25 years old. Her husband is a construction worker, and for the past two years, she has owned a grocery store.

She is the leader of the Terimbere Zamuka Group, which means “lets develop” in English. The group members sell different items and own a variety of businesses.

Fortinee will use her portion of the loan to buy more cooking oil, maize flour, sugar and beans to sell within her community. With the profit from her sales, she will be able to provide for the family and also expand her business in neighboring communities.

She is grateful for the support from the lenders.

Due to the global pandemic, Urwego was not able to photograph all of the group members. However, the photo shows one member who is representing the group.
