Fe Group's story

The “Fe” (Faith) Communal bank is in its 21st cycle. There are 16 members, and they have different businesses. Maria is one of the members, and for the first time she is the president of the communal bank. She has been a member for five years. During all of that time she learned to be responsible. What she likes the most are the meetings. Maria is married and has two children who attend school. Maria and her husband sell assorted clothing. She sells at regional fairs, and she also travels to the Ayacuchana jungle. She gets the clothes in the city of Lima. On her days off Maria also sells food in an itinerant manner close to her house. She sells in the evenings. Maria has a deaf-mute grandson who is her responsibility. Her dream is to be able to improve their quality of life. She also dreams of educating her children and having her own house. They now live in a rented house. Maria is requesting a loan for 1,800 soles to buy polo style shirts and pants.
