A loan helped to buy an additional dairy cow to improve her milk vending business.

Beatrice's story

Meet Beatrice, pictured. Taking a closer look at her, one would never know the hardships she has been through because she has always emerged victorious through all those adversities. Beatrice lives in the Nyamira area of Kenya. She is a mother who is blessed with lovely children who are her greatest motivation. She perseveres because she wants to provide a better future for them.

Beatrice’s primary sources of income are milk sales and a personal business she engages in to make ends meet. She has managed to take care of her family with her income from selling milk. Beatrice has always wanted to have another dairy cow, but a lack of capital has prevented her from doing so.

She is now seeking a loan to buy an additional dairy cow to improve her milk vending business. The cow she intends to buy is a breed that produces between 10-16 litres of milk a day. With this cow, she will produce more milk, which will translate into more income. Demand for milk in her area is high, but the supply is low. So, through this loan, Beatrice is going to have more milk to sell and comfortably meet demand.
