A loan helped buy items for his general store.
Mateo Amangandi's story
Mateo Amangandi S. is 61 years old. He is married and lives in the canton of Guaranda , part of the Bolivar province in Ecuador. He has six children. Mateo is member of the Gradas Chico rural bank, which is located 15 minutes by car from the city of Guaranda. There are 20 members in total, who for the most part dedicate themselves to growing corn, wheat, potatoes and the breeding of animals. This is the third loan taken out with the cooperative. Mateo devotes himself to farming. He grows corn, wheat, barley and potatoes. He gets his supplies and sells his products at the weekly market in Guaranda. He is requesting the loan to invest in a general store. Support from the loan will enable him to buy a tank of gas, rice and other items for his store in order to make better profit. His dream for the coming five years is to develop his commerce, expand the store, and provide financial support to his family. He is challenged by the lack of funds to develop his commerce. On Sundays he likes to go to church and listen to the word of God.
