A loan helped to buy sacks of peanuts and beans.

06_Kir Diom Group's story

This group is made up of 24 women who share strong bonds of solidarity and help one another. They live in the same village and seized the opportunity to join the banc villageois as soon as it was established in their area in December 2010. They are active primarily in small business.

Madame Arame, (on the extreme right in the photo with her hand raised) is the representative of the group. She is 35 years old. She is the married mother of three children, of whom two are female. She runs a retail business in peanuts and beans. She has experience in this business as she has been active in it for many years.

With this new loan, she plans on buying sacks of peanuts and beans to resell in weekly markets. With the profit, she plans to develop her business, increase her savings and take care of the needs of her children.
