A loan helped to buy quality cassava stems.

Gweri United Farmers Association Group's story

Kevin, shown in the photo in a blue blouse, is aged 46 and is married with four children who all go to school.

She is a farmer growing cassava, beans, and soya, and also raises pigs to earn a living. From farming and the piggery she earns money which helps her to provide for her children and to meet basic needs.

Kevin has been advised by a friend that in order to have a good harvest from cassava, it is necessary to plant quality stems. For this reason, she has requested a loan from VisionFund to buy quality stems for planting, so as to double her harvest for this season.

She faces the challenges of prolonged drought and a limited market for her pigs.

She appreciates VisionFund and Kiva for supporting her with finances.
