A loan helped to buy a freezer, electric deep fryer, French fries, and seasoning powder.

Wainida's story

Wainida is a local married woman, who lives in a rural community in Surin Province, Northeast Thailand, with her husband. Her family makes a living by running a food stall.

Wainida started her food stall business last year after losing her job due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. She was inspired by an online channel to learn how to make a delicious snack like French-fried potatoes. She sought a loan in order to expand her business and reduce transportation costs. Her house is about 80 kilometers away from where she buys raw French fries for cooking. As a result, she applied for a Kiva loan in order to purchase a freezer, electric deep fryer, French fries, and seasoning powder.

The loan will help Wainida to be able to afford the equipment she needs for her business and also support her as a local woman entrepreneur. In the future, she wants to make her business well-known and wishes to have her own franchise business.
