A loan helped to cover her mulberry expenses and hire a group of women to soften her mulberry for her.

'Akanete's story

‘Akanete is a mother who has run a tapa-making business for decades now. She may be handicapped, but that does not keep her from running her business. She has seven grown children, and they each have their own families.

'Akanete lives with her husband and their youngest daughter and her kids at their home. Once a week she uses her wheelchair to get to the village hall and join a group of women there gathered to make tapas.

'Akanete is an expert in designing tapas, and some women hire her to design their tapas, which is extra cash for 'Akanete. When her tapas are ready, they are then exported overseas to be sold.

'Akanete’s daughter helps with softening her tapas, but sometimes she is busy with her kids. So she is thinking of taking another loan to cover her mulberry expenses and hire a group of women to soften her mulberry for her. She will surely continue running her business and making her own money without fail. Show 'Akanete support by lending to her.
