01_Mossane Group's story

This group of 6 women belong to the Banc Villageois and was formed in April 2010. The women are very brave, and have repaid more than 10 loans on the due dates. Their main business is in agriculture and trading.

Ms. Jeanne, 67, to the right of the photo with the raised hand, is the representative. She is married and a mother of 7 children including two girls and five boys — all of whom are adults.

Ms. Jeanne carries out a small business selling a variety of fishery products (dried fish, prawns, oysters etc.) and grain. She buys her stock in bulk from the big traders and resells them retail in her area. Jeanne benefits from 11 years of experience.

With the loan, Jeanne will buy 2 baskets of dried and smoked fish, 10 basins of dried molluscs, prawns, oysters and bags of millet to make couscous that she will resell every night.

She excels in her business and is doing well. Jeanne's profits will enable her to strengthen her savings, to contribute to a savings fund and manage personal expenses.
