Edy Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to stock up on watermelon, bananas, avocados, lemons and cassava leaves, which will strengthen her initial capital.

Edy Group's story

Ms. Judith, 40, is a client of the microfinance institute Hekima, and manages the village group 'Edy'. She is married, and a mother of 8 children — three of whom are independent, and 5 go to school. Her partner is a civil servant.

Judith sells fruits and vegetables. She has been in this business for 8 years with the start-up funds received from her husband. Later, she was involved with the Hekima program to support her business, during which time it progressively grew.

With the new loan, Judith is going to stock up on watermelon, bananas, avocados, lemons and cassava leaves, which will strengthen her initial capital. The challenge in this business is the lack of customers.

Judith would like her children to continue their studies, and for her to develop her business. Finally, she wants to thank Hekima and its partners for their support towards non-bankable entrepreneurs in the context of the Covid-19 global crisis. The photo is only of the group leader due to Covid-19 social distancing measures.
