Cissy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more men's T-shirts, ladies' dresses, trousers, and skirts for sale.

Cissy's story

Cissy is 31 years old and lives in the town of Mattuga in the Kawempe region of Uganda. She is married and has three children, with two of them currently in school. For the past 10 years, Cissy has been working hard to manage her boutique, which sells all kinds of men's and ladies' clothing, such as shirts, dresses, etc.

To help expand her business, Cissy has requested a loan of 1,500,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more men's t-shirts, ladies' dresses, trousers, and skirts for sale. This will help Cissy to generate greater profits and improve on the standard of living by providing enough food for her family and buying new clothes for her children. Cissyhopes that in the future she will be able to buy a piece of land and build a house by next year.

Cissy is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members like Cissy who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
