Ashafa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped Ashafa to save for his family's future.

Ashafa's story

Ashafa is a maize farmer living in a small village in northern Nigeria. Similar to other farmers in this region, his main income is from farming, which is perceived as non-lucrative.

However, Ashafa is is able to practice farming in a more lucrative way thanks to access to training, quality agricultural inputs and farming services that have increased his yields by up to double the national Nigerian average.

Ashafa now needs a Harvest Advance loan to avoid losing part of his expected margins when he sells his maize at low prices during harvest in order to take care of his family's immediate needs. Through this Harvest Advance Loan, he will receive cash equal to his value of maize at harvest while Babban Gona stores his maize and sells it at a higher price in the future. With his increased income from this farming season, he plans to save for his family's future. With this investment, Ashafa will contribute his quota to alleviating poverty in northern Nigeria.
