'Ema's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy enough pandanus for her weaving business.

'Ema's story

'Ema is a 47-year-old mother to three teenagers. Her husband works as a farmer, and they live in their own home.

Currently she runs a weaving business with her sister. Sometimes they weave at her house, and sometimes they do it at her sister's. Together they weave taovala (an article of native clothing), mats and fihu (made from white coloured pandanus), then sell it to earn income for their families. It is more like a family business, for it is the business that their mother did to earn money for their living, and now they are doing it. It is a memory worth holding on to.

'Ema has applied for this loan to purchase efficient pandanus from Ha'apai, her native land.
