A loan helped increase working capital and introduce new shoes styles in the store.

Boaz's story

Boaz is a Rwandan entrepreneur who owns a women's clothing and fashion shop in Karongi, near the refugee camp. He is also married and a father of eight children. Boaz's business is a big support to his family's welfare.

After seeing how a large number of refugees who came to reside in Kiziba struggle to find clothes, Boaz came up with the idea of starting his business. He purchases women's fashion items such as shoes and bags, and wholesales them to other clients who sell the same items in Karongi. With the improvement of his business, Boaz was also able to open a showcasing shop in Kigali, and offered employment to five people in Karongi from both the camp and host community.

Boaz is very hard-working and wishes to expand his business even more. Therefore, he is requesting a loan to increase his working capital and introduce new shoes and bag styles in his stores, to satisfy his clients' increasing demands. This will also increase his sales and profits, and allow him to provide more job opportunities. In addition, Boaz will also be able to keep providing much-needed support to his family.
