Glenda's story

Glenda lives in an urban district which is located just 4 kilometers out of the city of Vanuatu, Port Vila. Her community is small, and the main industry is service. Being located in an urban area makes it quite alright for one to make a little income. Glenda is a young mother of one. She is 27 years of age and has her partner as her helping hand. She lives with her small family in her parents-in-laws house.

Glenda has asked for a loan to pay for housing materials so she can build a home unit which will increase her income. Living in an urban area makes it easy for tenants to move in. With her earned revenue, she will make an extension to her parents-in-laws house. Glenda has been in her business for over a year now. Her community had a small cooperative store which was sadly closed off due to financial mismanagement, Glenda dreams to re-open the cooperative store and manage it to help support her community. This is Glenda's third loan with SPBD - Vanuatu. Her previous loans were repaid fully and on a timely manner. Through her loans, Glenda feels empowered to expand her business and become a successful businesswoman.
