Eka's story

Eka is 50 years old and married with 3 children. She lives in a rural area on the island of Savaii in Samoa.

Eka owns and operates a retail store. She has been running her business for 8 years now, and sells groceries, toiletries, freezer goods etc. She describes herself as a hard-working, determined person that would do anything to ensure her family is healthy and happy.

Eka became a borrower with SPBD in 2010 and has successfully borrowed and repaid 7 loans. Due to her successful history, she is one of a select group that is eligible for a larger loan of 8,000 WST. She will use this loan to buy canned food, freezer goods, toiletries, groceries, soft drinks, snacks, etc.

With this loan, Eka will also be supporting her community by utilizing local products as she expands her business. In the past, Eka has used the profits from her business to expand the products in her store and help pay for higher education for her children. In the future, Eka hopes to improve something in her business and open a larger store.

Eka dreams of expanding her business and building a new home. Finally, Eka would like to share that she will work very hard and is grateful for your support.
