Anne's story

Wonderful people,

Growing up in East Africa comes with its own share of problems, but growing up in Kitale, Kenya is a real struggle. Anne, a mother, lives in Kitale and is the voice of hope for her two children. Farming is the main economic activity in her village. In Kitale, smallholder farmers have dominated the region, undertaking various farming activities on their farms.

On her farm, Anne practices mixed farming. She has advanced to be one of the most respected women in Kitale. Although she makes profits from farming, she is not comfortable with the high prices of farming inputs in her area. That is why she is seeking this loan to buy farm inputs such as seeds.

Kenya's Kitale area, one of the country's populated regions, has a high demand for food. This means that Anne could increase her profits and satisfy the demand that is there. She also believes that the extra income she earns will enable a change in her life and increase her business. Increased profits will allow Anne to repay this loan and secure the future of her aging parents and school-going children.
