A loan helped to purchase second hand shoes which will reinforce her working capital.

Muyisa Group's story

Mme Josephine is a Hekima IMF client and she oversees the village group MUYISA. She is 41 years old, married and the mother of eight children who all attend school. Her spouse is a welder.

Ten years ago, Mme Josephine started her business of selling shoes using the start up funds provided by her husband. Later she became involved in the Hekima program to support her business which has developed progressively. With this new loan, she will purchase second hand shoes which will reinforce her working capital. The challenge in her business is tied to a lack of clients.

Mme Josephine would like her children to continue to attend school and to be able to feed her family. Finally, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support extended to non-bankable business owners in the context of the global Covid-19 crisis. The photo is of the group leader alone in order to respect the social distancing measures necessitated by Covid-19.
