Thanh An 58 Group's story

Anh is the leader of the Thanh An 58 group, standing first from the far right in the photo. Anh has a daughter who married and has 2 children (Anh’s grandchildren). Anh is a Thai ethnic minority woman living with her family in a poor village of Vietnam, where agriculture is the main source of income. Anh’s family is a low-income household in the village and has been recognized as a near-poor household by the government. To escape from the struggles of poverty, Anh has always tried hard to increase production. However, without training in any specialty, her agricultural production is based only on experience using very old traditional techniques. Since she joined the Anh Chi Em program, Anh received technique counseling and a loan which is very useful helping her invest in livestock.

Anh recently requested a loan from Anh Chi Em to buy more chicks, ducks and animal feed for them. She believes that her investment will be successful and help to significantly improve her family’s income. From a young age, Anh couldn’t go to school due to difficult circumstances. Her biggest dream is that her grandchildren will get the best education, go to university and escape poverty.
