Lài's loan finished fundraising,

A loan helped to buy more piglets to raise.

Lài's story

Lài is 44 years old and widowed. She lives in Cam Thuy District, a mountainous area in Thanh Hoa Province that is far away from the city center. Lài belongs to the Muong ethnic minority.

She makes a living by cultivating two crops of paddy rice per year. Lài also grows seasonal vegetables and raises chickens and pigs. She sells her agricultural products at the local markets. Lài diversifies her livestock and crops so that she can ensure that her family earns an adequate income from which to live.

Living in a remote area makes it difficult to access capital from banks, especially since she is a widow. Lài decided to request her second loan from Thanh Hoa Microfinance Institution because there is no collateral requirement and she can pay in installments.

She will use the loan to buy more piglets to raise. Lài plans to expand her barn in the future.
