Peter's story

My name is Peter and I’ve been working in the auto parts industry for the past five years. I founded #1, Harrison Auto Parts, in 2018 after spending several years as a stock person and delivery driver for Pep Boys, Advanced Auto Parts, and Auto Plus. As a kid growing up in a single-family home with 3 brothers, my mother showed us what it meant to work hard. Seeing my mother working hard to provide for me and my brothers, has always motivated me to be the best at whatever I set out to do. My grandfather also played a key role in my development growing up because he would always teach me about working on cars and the importance of learning a skill set. As an auto mechanic, my grandfather was the person who got me interested in auto parts at a very young age. He would always tell me to go into business for myself when I got older so that I would be in a position to always provide for my family. Once I graduated high school and after serving some time in the US Army, I decided to begin my career in the auto part industry. I started off working as a stock clerk for PepBoys, then became a delivery driver when the opportunity presented itself. As a delivery driver and stock clerk, I was able to get an inside look at the auto parts industry and understand what was needed to run a seamless operation. I learned the importance of organization to ensure that the customers were receiving the correct parts each time. My primary focus is to thoroughly assess the needs of the consumer and to provide the necessary parts, or supplies needed to ensure complete satisfaction.
