A loan helped to buy more rice, red oil, Vita and other items to sell.

Lorpu's story

Lorpu is 50 years old and stays in Liberia. She is living together with her partner along with their four children. All of her children are currently living at home while attending school.

Lorpu never had the opportunity to attend school. Her main source of income is business, mainly selling rice, red oil, Vita and other items. She started a few years back with an objective of increasing her business.

She has applied for a loan with BRAC Liberia. The loan will be used to buy more rice, red oil, Vita and other items to sell. She is hopeful that with increased inventory, her sales will also improve, thus bettering her finances to provide for her family. She learned the trade from her sister and started selling with some financial help from her partner.

Lorpu is grateful for the financial support from lenders that will boost her business. Her dream is to build a house and increase her business.
