A loan helped Purchase another buffalo for the dairy business.

Begum's story

Begum is a resident of Kasur, which is a small city located in the Punjab province of Pakistan and famous for its dairy and leather industries. She is 28 years old, married to H. A. S., and the mother of a son and a daughter, both of whom are very young. Her husband has a business of selling milk. He sells the milk of his two buffalo. He wakes up early in the morning, gets milk from them and transfers the milk to milk jars. Then he transfers the milk jars to his motorbike and delivers them to different milk shops and to his community. He has been operating this business for the last ten years and is doing very well. Begum’s father-in-law has a shop where he sells cattle feed. He earns a reasonable amount of income every month. Begum has applied for a loan from Asasah for her husband’s business. With the loan he will buy another buffalo for his milk-selling business. She hopes that by utilizing the money in this way, he will be able to expand his business and increase his income. Begum wants to give a quality education to her children once they become old enough to attend school. She is hopeful that her husband’s income will increase enough that she will not face any problems in sending her children to school and affording their school fees.
