01_Santhie Group's story

This Banc Villageois, set up in July 2006, joins together these seven good and honest women; they lives in the same village and are united by tight values of kinship, community, and solidarity. Their main work is in commerce. They have paid back several loans on time.

Ms. Oumanatou the group's representative standing at the far right in the photo with a hand raised. She is 59 years old, married, and the mother of six children, including two sons; one is still in school.

Ms. Oumanatou sells various fruits, and her business is located on the national road. She stocks up from wholesalers week by week and sells her merchandise retail. She has over twenty years of good experience in this sector.

With her loan, she intends to purchase 100 kg of grapefruit, sacks of limes, … that she will sell at a good margin. She owns two locations she manages with her daughter.

Her profits enable her to provide for her needs (including tontine dues), to add to her savings within the Banc Villageois, and to develop her commerce.
