A loan helped to buy broiler chickens.

06_Keur Serigne Bara Group's story

This group is composed of 25 women. They share strong bonds of solidarity and mutual aid. They live in the same neighborhood and seized the opportunity to join the "banc villageois" when it was established in the locality in December 2008. Their main business is small trade.

Mrs. Mbarka, (standing on the far right of the photo with her hand raised), is the representative of the group. She is 68 years old. She is married and mother of 3 children including a daughter. She sells broiler chickens. She is experienced in this business, having done it for several years.

With this new loan, she plans to buy broiler chickens in large quantities to resell them in retail to her customers.

With the profits, she plans to develop her business, strengthen her savings and help her husband with their daily expenses.
