Safina's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more fashionable children's clothes of different kinds to attract more customers.

Safina's story

Safina is 25 years old and lives in the town of Mattuga in the Kawempe region of Uganda. She has one child, who is currently in school. For the past seven years, Safina has been working hard to manage her boutique, where she sells all kinds of adult clothes, such as shirts and dresses.

To help expand her business, Safina has requested a loan of 1,800,000 Ugandan shillings (UGX) from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more fashionable children's clothes of different kinds to attract more customers. This will help Safina to generate greater profits and improve her standard of living by providing enough food for her family.

Safina hopes that in the future, she will be able to build a house of her own.

Safina is a member of BRAC's microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members like Safina who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
