Maquayah's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more lapper [traditional cloth] and designer hats to sell.

Maquayah's story

This is 44-year-old Maquayah, a married mother who has three children. Maquayah never had the opportunity to attend school. She is a hardworking businesswoman who sells lapper [traditional cloth] and designer hats, a business she has managed for 10 years. She faces no problems with her sales. She sells six days a week and uses a car to transport supplies to her business site. She started to sell with her little savings.

To continue her business, Maguayah applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia and Kiva. With this loan she will again purchase more lapper and designer hats to sell to her customers. She likes her business, because it provides her children with their basic needs. Her dreams for the future are to build a house and own a lappa store. She wishes to say thanks.
