Hli's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy the raw materials to ensure her hammock business continues smoothly despite global economic uncertainty.

Hli's story

Hli was born and raised in Kunsaatan Village, about one hour north of Huay Hom Village (where she lives now). She grew up in a traditional Hmong hill tribe family and spent her childhood working in difficult field labor instead of going to school. She has always been frustrated by her lack of education. Hli married a man from the San-wang clan and lived for many years as a traditional Hmong wife, working in the fields and caring for her family.

She had ambitions beyond her limited domestic role and always dreamed of being able to provide more than the bare necessities to her children. When she learned about the opportunity to weave hammocks, she was excited about the chance to learn a new skill and earn her own income.

Now Hli has been weaving for several years and her family is very proud of her achievements. She has found immense satisfaction in becoming a weaver and her family's breadwinner!

This loan will help Hli stabilize her hammock weaving income by ensuring she has supplies and yarn to weave consistently through the coming year.
