Na Tau 55 Group's story

The woman in the blue coat in the photo is 37-year-old Thinh. She is a Thai ethnic minority woman, married and lives with husband and two children in a Thai traditional house in a remote village located in the Northwest mountains of Vietnam.

Like other villagers in the village, her family works in agricultural production to provide for their family involving several activities such as planting rice, corn, cassava and raising fish and pigs. Because the income from farming and breeding is unstable, she has always wanted to expand her production. So, she requested a loan from the Anh Chi Em program to buy fingerlings for raising fish. Thinh hopes that, with the support of the program along with her 6 years experiences in fish, the fingerlings will grow up fast and healthy so she could earn a good income. With the profit from this investment, she is planning to save for her children to go to school and to re-invest in the future.
