Jepkorir's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped a single mom to buy seed and fertilizer to improve production and make more income for her family.

Jepkorir's story

Jepkorir is a single mom who is a 47-year-old smallholder farmer. She lives in Kapsowar, an area with hilly scenery that is good for camping and hiking. She is a mixed crop farmer. The biggest problem that farmers from her village face is the huge deficit in access to agricultural inputs, which means that farmers’ yields and incomes are far below what they could be. Juhudi Kilimo partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholder farmers around Kenya. By having access to financial services, farmers like Jepkorir can now buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for their farms.

Jepkorir is requesting a loan to buy seed and fertilizer. Her loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs. As a result, Jepkorir will help meet the increasing demand for food in the marketplace, generate more income to repay her loan, and improve her family's quality of life. She also hopes to improve the condition of her house. Help this mother with a loan to accomplish all of her dreams!
