Than's story

Than, 50, is a married man with four children living in Angkor Borei District, Takeo Province. He is a conscientious rice farmer who owns and manages around 2 hectares of farmland. He works with his spouse, earning in the vicinity of $6 USD each day. He has been doing this for almost 10 years. Rice farming provides all of his family’s income. He aspires to achieve financial stability and provide his children with comfortable living conditions. With his many years of experience, Than is an expert in taking care of his rice crops and ensuring abundant harvests each year, except for the year of a big flood.

Because of a shortage in his finances, he has applied for a loan in the amount of KHR 4,000,000 to pay for renovation. This funding can encourage him to pay to purchase construction supplies as well pay for labor costs. Having a strong personal home is a source of pride, safety, comfort and dignity in society. Home is a place to spend time with a beloved family.

The advantages of new roofs include protection when it rains, storm protection, clean ceilings that provide comfort for living, and waterproofing.

Thanks to the Kiva lenders for their role in the comprehensive development of poor people like him who want to reduce poverty for their families. His profits enable him to increase his savings and take care of his needs and those of his children.
