Claudette's story

Claudette is an entrepreneur who owns and runs a wholesale general store business in Karongi near one of the refugee camps in Rwanda. She started her business as a retail general store with little capital from her savings. The business provides home utilities and electronic devices. In the establishment of the camp, Claudette decided to start selling home materials at cheap prices to facilitate refugees who had just joined the camp. Claudette has created jobs for 2 permanent employees and 3 casuals who are from camp and host community.

Claudette is also a wife and a mother of 2 children. The business has helped her facilitate most of the financial needs of her children. She is passionate to grow her business even further and decided to attend the AEC/Inkomoko training where she acquired skills such as bookkeeping. This has helped her have a clear picture of the business performance.

A loan to Claudette will help her to introduce new products that are frequently requested by her customers. She wants to keep a good reputation in the community. Claudette's dream is to grow and employ even more.
