Martha Cecilia's story

Martha Cecilia, age 33, is a micro-entrepreneur living in the city of Barranquilla with her partner. She has three years' experience selling meat and cheese which she buys in her home village and sells in her shop and neighborhood where she lives.

At first, she sold to the closest people and relatives. In time, her customers increased, which permitted her to acquire more working capital to increase her purchases. In this way, she can distribute more products. During this time, her business has been an important part of her family's income. It has permitted her to contribute to the necessities of her household; now it is the only source of income.

But due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, her level of work declined due to questions of bio-security and her income dropped drastically. For that reason, she requests her first Kiva loan from the Fundación Santo Domingo in order to invest in the purchase of a refrigerator, meat, and cheese. Please support her loan for her business.
