but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy fertilizer, bowls, spoons, and equipment for rubber tree plantation.

Sri's story

Sri is a married local woman, who lives with her husband in a rural community of Surin Province, Northeast Thailand. In general, her family makes a living by cultivating rice and working on their own rubber tree farm. Her children all have their own families and live in different provinces.

Sri and her husband have cultivated a rice farm for many years, but the income from the occupation was not sufficient for spending in their family. Therefore, Sri decided to grow rubber trees in her own land. The occupation is capable to generate income, so she sought the opportunity to expand her rubber tree farm and improve the quality of her latex from rubber trees. Then, she applied for a loan through Kiva to purchase fertilizer, bowls, spoons, and rubber tree plantation equipment.

The loan will allow her to improve the business to purchase the needed equipment. It will also help the female entrepreneur to generate more income.
