A loan helped to buy a dairy cow.

Mujeres La Virginia Group's story

There are 15 women in this group. They help each other and seek the way to be able to improve their living conditions and to offer a decent life to their families. Also, they are included in the program for the elimination of poverty.

Zonia is one of them. She sells milk and cheese that she makes. She has several animals that she cares for, and which provide her with the raw material. Her husband and her three children help with the business. They are a united and hardworking family that seeks the way to be able to get ahead. Zonia is a very self-sacrificing person. She says that she puts all of herself into being able to move her family forward, so that they lack nothing and do not suffer privations.

She requests this loan to buy a dairy cow, in order to have more production and to continue with her work as she has been doing.

Note: Although there is only one person in the photo, this is a group loan. It was not possible to take a group photo, to avoid gathering people due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
