A loan helped to purchase pandanus for her weaving business and Chinese cotton for her knitting business.

Henilieta's story

Henilieta is helped by her husband in running multiple businesses such as farming, weaving, tapa making and knitting business. The plantation is well taken care of by her husband, and they sometimes hire a group of men to help. She is a sole weaver, and she spends her time weaving at home. Once a week she and some other women spend a day making lots of tapas, design it then sell it out to earn income for their families. Henilieta has sisters overseas where she usually sends her mats and tapas. They also export some of their crops overseas and make a good earning from it. Her husband supports her other businesses by planting a mulberry field. She has to buy pandanus only for the moment until they have their own plantation of pandanus. She wishes to use her loan money to purchase a large amount of pandanus for her weaving, for she is planning on hiring a group of women to weave for her. She also needs financial support with her knitting, and this loan will help. She believes in running these business and keeping them successful, not only to repay her loan but also to improve her family's life quality.
