Mariam Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to stock two bags of corn and some manioc (cassava), bolstering her initial capital.

Mariam Group's story

Ms. Petronia is a customer of the IMF Hekima and the leader of the Mariam village group. She is married, 52 years old and has 12 children, all of whom are or have been to school. Her husband is out of work.

Petronia sells various food items. She launched this business in 1995 with the starting funds obtained from her husband. Later on she joined the Hekima program to support her business, and has been developing it gradually. With this new loan, Petronia will stock up two bags of corn and some manioc (cassava), bolstering her initial capital. Her business challenge is linked to poor quality of goods.

Petronia would like to see her children continue their education as well as to provide for her family. In conclusion, Petronia would like to thank Hekima and its partners for supporting business owners who lack access to funding, especially at this time of a global crisis due to Covid-19. Only the group leader appears in the photo due to Covid-19 social distancing measures.
