Melany's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for housing materials to complete building her home units and increase her income.

Melany's story

Melany is a 69-year-old mother of six grown-up children. She is married and lives with a few of her children and grandchildren in her own compound. Melany lives in an urban suburb which is located just 2 kilometres from Port Vila's international airport. Her community is very small, and the main industry is service and food. Being located near the highway makes it quite satisfying for one to make a little income.

Melany has asked for a loan to pay for housing materials so she can complete her unfinished home units which will increase her income. She has her business of baking donuts, and the majority of her community members are her main customers. With her earned revenue, she will renovate her old home.

Melany has now been in her business for 16 years. She dreams her business will help her provide a better house for her and her family.

SPBD - Vanuatu has been helping Melany for over 3 years now, and this is her fourth loan. She successfully repaid her prior loans in a timely manner. Through her loans, Melany feels motivated to continue with her business so she can improve the living conditions for her family.
