Yolanda's story

I grew up on a farm in a rural community about 30 miles away from the nearest stores. One of my fondest memories is driving to town with my mother on a girls day to visit the local clothing boutiques. We loved trying on clothes together and finding what looked good. No matter what was going on in our lives, the shopping was always a welcome respite from our daily lives. My mother has sparked the entrepreneurial spirit in me because she opened a small café that gave her great pride and joy in serving others amazing food and conversation to warm their souls. I was able to observe and help in the hard work required in owning and operating a small business. As I entered the work force I realized very quickly that retail was one of my passions. I have spent approximately 5 years in retail helping others find that same joy in a pleasant shopping experience. The smiles that people get when they find a new outfit for what ever occasion as well as the friendships built during shopping has always given me a great amount of joy. Once I married my husband we began traveling to neighboring cities and states. In our travels it was a desire of mine to stop at the little boutiques and shop. I had a lot of opportunities to interact with small business owners who had similar passions as mine. In 2013 I met a wonderful lady that was wearing retro clothing and I quickly became very captivated by the style. These experiences sparked something inside of me and led me to starting my own retro retail clothing business. I look forward to expanding my store and bringing this style and joy to my community and others around the country.
